Welcome to the St Ignatius College website.

We provide a Catholic education for boys aged 11-18. The College is in the Trusteeship of the Society of Jesus and is proud to be a Jesuit school.

Originally founded in 1894 and based in Stamford Hill, the College was set up to serve young men in North East London. We have been on our Enfield site since 1968. Our school’s excellent reputation has been earned by the hard work of the staff, students and continued support from the families we serve.

Jesuit schools exist to promote improvement in learning and living for the greater glory of God. Our distinct and unique tradition seeks to find God in all things, care for the individual, show love in deeds, building a Christian community, engaging with the wider world, encouraging excellence and, finally, co-operating in the Jesuit mission.

We are dedicated to achieving the highest possible standards of attainment and progress and recognise the potential of each child in our care.

In 2009 the College achieved its highest ever academic performance at both A-Level and GCSE. However, we are not complacent and look forward to the challenge of building upon this success and nurture a community that fosters an understanding of Faith and the value of Learning. We produce “Men for Others”; we take pride in the extensive programmes of moral and spiritual development that allows our boys to go out into the community to serve others.

This year we have secured just under £1 million for an extensive refurbishment programme. This is part of our desire to provide the best curriculum offer for your son in an environment which allows him to flourish.

By the end of their time at St Ignatius College it is hoped that young people are:

  • Developing and deepening a relationship with God and are able to find God in reflection on their own experience.

  • Happy, friendly and self-confident, with a sense of humour and an awareness of their God-given gifts and the need to fulfil their potential for good.

  • Seen to have a generosity of spirit and a readiness to place their talents at the disposal of others, especially the most needy.

  • In the process of deepening their understanding of who Christ is and of living out their faith more fully.

  • Well prepared to take their place in wider society unmotivated by prestige or selfish ambition and aware of how fully they can contribute to the common good.

  • Ready to ask ‘What more can I do, what more can I give?’ in every area of life.

  • Proud of having belonged to a Jesuit school community with respect for its values and those who taught them.

Please feel free to explore our website and find out more about what makes St Ignatius College so successful.
