Executive Headteacher’s Welcome
I have had the privilege of being Executive Headteacher of St Ignatius College since September 2014 and as we approach the end of my first year, I am happy to share my voyage of discovery with current and prospective parents. It has been a remarkable year to date and a year in which we have made many significant changes to the life of the College which are bearing fruit and making a tangible impact on the ethos, culture and aspirations of this very distinctive community.
The most obvious evidence of change is to be found in the built environment. We have invested significantly in many areas of the school, including the boys’ toilets, canteen and many of the classrooms and cloakrooms. The programme of investment in the environment continues with over £2 million worth of building works being undertaken over the summer vacation. The College has been supported in this by our Trustees, the Society of Jesus, and we are working closely together to implement a two year rolling programme of refurbishment which, if all goes well, may see an investment of well over £5 million from the Trustees in the future of St Ignatius College.
