College Celebrates Excellent GCSE Results 2020

Congratulations to our Year 11 students and their teachers on achieving excellent results again this summer. We are very proud of the achievements of each and every one of our students. In the face of all the uncertainty, the hard work and determination of our students has reaped dividends and culminated in success. Despite the disruption this year, we are delighted with our students’ performance. 125 Anniversary Mass at Westminster

On Friday 24th January 2020 the whole school community along with special guests, travelled to Westminster Cathedral to celebrate Mass marking our 125th anniversary.  The team at the College executed the logistics perfectly with the boys carefully following instructions and helping to make this a truly wonderful day. The boys were a real credit to the school.  Mass was performed by Bishop John Sherrington and concelebrated by a large number of fellow Jesuit preists.  Readers, servers, choir and congregation all conducted themselves very well - the epitome of a Jesuit pupil profile! Careers Week 2026

As well as the usual Careers Presentations to different year groups, there were activities in the library every lunch time for National Careers Week. We kicked off with an engaging session focused on helping students recognise their own skills, strengths and areas for growth. From communication and teamwork to problem‑solving and creativity, students reflected on what they already do well and identified the qualities they want to develop further. It was a valuable opportunity for them to consider who they are, what they can bring to future workplaces, and how their unique strengths can shape the paths ahead. Day 2 encouraged students to look outward and explore future pathways. They examined different routes into a wide range of careers - including Sixth Form and Higher Education, Apprenticeships, and Degree Apprenticeships -and discussed how gaining workplace experience, alongside building knowledge and skills, can give them a strong start. On Day 4, students made meaningful links between school and the wider world by considering how their favourite subjects can influence their future direction. They explored the skills they enjoy using, matched them to real‑world roles, and discovered new industries they may not have encountered before. We wrapped up the week with Day 5: UniFrog in Action. Through hands‑on sessions, students explored pathways, compared courses, and learned how to use UniFrog to support every stage of their decision‑making.

Ski Trip 2026

Over the half term break, students enjoyed an unforgettable ski trip filled with fresh mountain air, plenty of snow and lots of laughter. From the moment they arrived, the group embraced every opportunity - from learning new skills on the slopes to challenging themselves on more advanced runs as the week went on. Whether they were first time skiers finding their balance or more experienced students perfecting their technique, everyone made fantastic progress. Evenings were just as memorable, with time to relax, share stories from the day and enjoy the beautiful alpine setting. It was a wonderful week away full of fun, achievement and moments the group will remember for a long time. A huge thank you goes to the staff who supported the trip and helped make it such a success.

Sixth Form Open Evening

We were delighted to welcome so many visitors to the Sixth Form Open Evening last night. All of our A Level subjects were on show with great visuals and details course information as well as all of the extra curricular offerings including Combined Cadet Force and Duke of Edinburgh. It was great to see our brilliant Sixth Form student helpers' enthusiasm for the school and the subjects and we are particularly grateful to those recent leavers who came back to support this event and pass on their stories. The deadline for applications is 9th February.

Carol Concert

On Tuesday 9 December we held our annual carol concert. Each of our Year 7 form classes learnt a different carol, which they led with enthusiasm during the service. Staff and students performed in our choir and orchestra and our students delivered the readings, which told the Christmas story. The Old Chapel was beautifully decorated by Mrs Di Biasio, our Admissions Officer, and our guests enjoyed hot chocolate, shortbread, gingerbread and mince pies to help them get into the Christmas spirit. We thank our staff and especially over 30 Sixth Form students who volunteered their time to help the event run smoothly. Thanks to the generosity of our guests, we raised over £300 for the Jesuit Refugee Service UK in our retiring collection.

Trips to Parliament

This term we were fortunate to bring two trips to Parliament.  In September Years 10 and 12 visited where they watched a film about democracy and toured the historic building and in December Years 8 and 9 visited, taking part in a workshop where they learned about petitions and they also toured the site. These trips supported students' learning in Magis about democracy, UK governance and law making as well as learning about how the building has been used from a royal palace through to its current use.

STEM Workshops with Volker Fitzpatrick

As part of "Tomorrow’s Engineers Week" #TEWeek we were very pleased to have 3 professionals from Volker Fitzpatrick delivering engaging workshop sessions designed to inspire Year 10 students and provide valuable insights into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) careers. They used their knowledge, teamwork and problem solving skills to make the tallest tower that would remain standing and hold up a marshmallow. Volker Fitzpatrick have also been in this term to speak to Year 12 as part of the Ambition Programe and we thank them for their ongoing support.

China Trip: Day 4 🇨🇳 Post 4/4 Following lunch, students all participated in making a decorative lions head. Students were given instructions in Chinese and were asked to decorate it as described. Fun fact, a large lion head takes 3 months to make

China Trip: Day 4 🇨🇳 Post 3/4 In the afternoon, we tried a range of traditional dishes for lunch. Students were shown how to prepare the utensils for a meal by Ms Li before digging in! Loads of dishes were new to students, further enriching them!

China Trip: Day 4 🇨🇳 Post 1/4 We started off early, as we went for an excursion to Foshan. In the morning, we visited Zumiao Temple and Museum. Here we learnt more about the Chinese culture and beliefs.     Video

China Trip: Day 3 🇨🇳 Post 4/4 After dinner, we headed to a shopping mall! Students were given tasks by their teachers to complete, which included having conversations with store staff regarding products. Once done, they got a few items.🛍️

China Trip: Day 3 🇨🇳 Post 2/4 Following lunch, our students participated in a paper cutting workshop. Students learnt about the history of paper cutting and were shown how to make a beautiful peach design, before doing their own!

China Trip 2026 – Day 1 🇨🇳 ✈️ Our Year 9 students have arrived safely in Guangzhou after a long flight. Everyone settled into the hotel and enjoyed a good night’s rest, ready for an early start as the study trip begins! Look out for more updates!
